Frequently Asked Questions

Great question — it's actually the best of both worlds. The building at 400 Main Street underwent a comprehensive gut renovation. While the historic exterior, Art Deco lobby, ornate terra-cotta cornice, arched ceilings, and terrazzo floors were lovingly preserved, every residential unit was built entirely from scratch. That means new walls, new floors, new plumbing, new electrical, new HVAC, and completely new kitchens and bathrooms with modern finishes. You're getting a brand-new apartment inside a building with nearly a century of character.

Valeur Lofts offers two floor plan types: 22 studio apartments starting at $2,250/month and 19 one-bedroom, one-bathroom suites starting at $2,725/month. Every unit features open-concept layouts, modern kitchens with quartz countertops, in-unit washer/dryer, and the building's signature oversized historic windows. Visit our floorplans page for detailed layouts.

We're at 400 Main Street in the Columbus Park neighborhood of downtown Stamford, Connecticut. It's one of the most walkable locations in the city — restaurants, shopping, and nightlife are all within a few blocks. Wells Fargo, Dunkin', and Dr. Mike's Ice Cream are right downstairs in the building's ground-floor retail spaces.

The Stamford Transportation Center is just minutes away on foot. From there, Metro-North provides direct service to Grand Central Terminal in approximately 50 minutes. It's one of the most convenient commutes in Fairfield County.

Every unit comes with an in-unit washer/dryer and a modern kitchen with full-size appliances. Please note that some amenities, including the fitness center, are covered by a separate amenity fee. Contact our leasing office at (203) 561-6636 for full details on utilities, fees, and other inclusions.

Building amenities include an on-site fitness center, a beautifully restored Art Deco lobby, and three ground-floor retail tenants — Wells Fargo, Dunkin', and Dr. Mike's Ice Cream (opening spring 2026). Every apartment includes oversized historic windows with city views, contemporary kitchens, and in-unit laundry.

Quite a few. The renovation preserved the building's ornate terra-cotta cornice, the oversized original windows (which now flood every apartment with natural light), patinated copper details on the facade, the Art Deco lobby with its arched ceilings, original doors, terra cotta tile work, terrazzo floors, and even the original mail chute. Walking through the lobby and hallways, you feel the building's history — then you step into your unit and everything is brand new.

Apartments are delivered unfurnished. The photos on our gallery page show staged model units to give you a sense of how the spaces can be arranged.
